Ethernet Remote I/O Modules for Profinet Networks
Acromag’s Profinet I/O products offer a variety of solutions for remote I/O, distributed process control, and factory automation applications. Analog and discrete Ethernet I/O modules interface sensors and actuators to controllers with the Profinet protocol network communication.
A Profinet I/O device is a component used to communicate in a PROFINET (Process Field Network) control system. Based on the earlier PROFIBUS serial field bus standard, Profinet is structured to allow efficient Ethernet communication with real-time data exchange for dependable control and monitoring operations. Input modules monitor digital or analog sensors and send data to a system controller. Output modules regulate actuators (e.g. motors or valves) to perform actions based on signals received from the controllers.
