What is a VPX Carrier Card?
VPX carrier cards are modules used in VPX (VITA 46) computing systems that allow integration of various functions into a system providing additional expansion and customization. With the carrier card, devices or modules that may not be available in a VPX format can be used within the system. One function of the carrier card is integrating different mezzanine form factors such as PMC, XMC, and mini PCIe modules to allow more flexibility and functionality. Carrier Cards also handle signal conversion, routing, and power distribution to ensure a secure system. These features are the base of the carrier card’s ability to integrate functions that couldn’t be implemented otherwise.
