What is Modbus IO?
Modbus I/O refers to I/O (input/output) devices and modules that communicate using Modbus protocol, a standardized communication protocol for transmitting information over serial lines or ethernet. Modbus I/O is designed to work with controllers and devices designed by any manufacturer, making it highly versatile. Types of Modbus include Modbus RTU/ASCII and Modbus TCP/IP. TCP/IP uses ethernet communication whereas RTU/ASCII uses serial communication. However, RTU is binary-oriented, while ASCII is text-oriented.
Acromag offers a range of Modbus I/O modules that provide reliable and flexible solutions for various industrial applications. Our Modbus I/O products support Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP, enabling easy integration with existing systems. The modules we offer feature wide temperature ranges, robust construction, and high-density I/O configurations, making them suitable for demanding environments.
