Ethernet I/O is a term that refers to the use of Ethernet networks to manage and interface with I/O (input/output) devices. Ethernet I/O consists of I/O modules and hardware devices that connect to network controllers to manage operations and process data.  I/O modules provide measurement and control functionalities for sensors and actuators. Three protocols commonly used for Ethernet I/O are Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, and Profinet Modbus are typically used in smaller systems. Ethernet/IP and Profinet are more common in complex systems.

Acromag offers a range of Ethernet I/O modules that facilitate the integration of I/O devices into Ethernet networks. Our products are standardized, scalable, and flexible to optimize any control network, making our technology ideal for industrial automation applications.
