What is an XMC Module?
An XMC (Switched Mezzanine Card) module is an expansion card commonly used to provide embedded systems with accommodations that wouldn’t normally be supported. The module follows the VITA 42 standard and uses high-speed serial interfaces (PCI Express or Serial RapidIO) to connect to the host system. XMC modules enhance base systems by providing more input/output options and supporting functions like data acquisition, signal processing, and storage.
XMC modules, like the ones sold by Acromag, are built with a rugged design to withstand harsh environments and conditions making them perfect for applications in military, aerospace, industrial automation, and more.
