What is an Industry Pack (IP) Module?
An IP (industry pack) module is a type of mezzanine card, usually specializing in adding I/O functionalities to host systems. All modules follow the IndustryPack specification standardized by VITA, which provides a compact, flexible, and cost-effective solution for expanding the signal processing capabilities of associated systems. The module’s compact form factor design allows multiple modules to be mounted onto host carrier cards for easy integration. Carriers also have a standardized interface to ensure compatibility with products from other manufacturers.
