VMEbus stands for Versa Module Europa Bus, a modular bus system developed by European companies in the 1980s and standardized by VITA. “Versa Module” signifies its flexible and modular qualities, and “Europa” displays its European origins. VMEbus was designed to provide a high-performance, scalable architecture suitable for demanding applications in industrial automation, military, aerospace, and scientific research.
