At config time, the CPLD provides the ID space registers as well as the two configuration register within I/O space. Does it also provide access to the ID space when in user mode?. Thanks
Answer: It is important to Replicate the ID Space with in your FPGA application code. The ID space is available from the CPLD only when in configuration mode. Once the module switches to User mode, the CPLD is disengaged. If the ID space is not replicated within the FPGA application code you may find using software driver supplied for most carrier cards. The reason for this is that the Carriers software drivers typically use the data contained within the ID space for verifying that a board is present in a given slot.
