newer versionso of Firefox (3.0 and later) and IE 8 have had a change in methodology in which they try to open up multiple TCP/IP socets at one time. this can cause occasional Java errors on the EtherStax Ethernet Modules when trying to open or reload certain pages. To check and correct things with firefox, try following the procedure below to set the number of persistent connections to back to a level of two. IE8 users download the service bulletin 8500-871.
1. Go to the address bar in Firefox and type in "about:config".
2. Use the filter to find the following line: network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server 3. If it's value is anything greater than two, then set it back to two.
