After I talk to an IP module on one of them and I talk to the next one, both attempt to respond. Do I need to disable the original carrier before talking to the second one? I am sending 24 bits of address on the VME bus but it appears the IPs are only looking at 16 bits.
Answer: The IP modules are mapped into short I/O space. The IP modules must be address with a 16-bit address and corresponding address modifier (AM). In addition, the AVME9675 requires the base address of the IP module space be written into the ADER register in the Control/Status register (CRS) portion of the CR/CSR space. A unique address needs to be assigned to each carrier. See Table 3.2 (page 9 of user manual) which gives the address of the ADER register.
