Design Engineer

Primary tasks will be to assist in the research and design of electronic embedded board products. This will include design, testing, documentation, and manufacturing support of electronic products. In addition, existing products must occasionally be supported with component updates. Candidate will also provide product application support for new and existing products.

Position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Additional BSCE (Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering) would be a plus but not required. Also requires a minimum of 2 years experience using and designing with board schematic capture and PCB tools. Experience with Xilinx or Altera FPGA products/tools and VHDL FPGA code development would be a plus but not required. Requires experience with the C programming language to test and evaluate product designs.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Plans and formulates engineering activities according to project requirements.
  • Supports new project planning, scheduling, preliminary design, and costing efforts.
  • Generates product functional specifications and product test requirements.
  • Reviews product design for compliance with relevant design standards and marketing needs.
  • Reviews and reports project status against the schedule during the development cycle.
  • Resolves engineering design and testing problems.
  • Documents products per company requirements.
  • Helps train and direct support personnel as required.
  • Does research into new applications/methods as required.
  • Reviews and refines methods to enhance hardware/firmware development.
  • Consults with software engineering staff to optimize interfaces between hardware and software.

Software Engineer

Primary tasks will be to research and design software for embedded board products. This will include design, testing, documentation, and manufacturing support of software and products. In addition, existing software must occasionally be supported with updates. Candidate will also provide product application support for new and existing products.

Position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering (BSCE) and/or Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Also requires a minimum of 2 years experience using and designing with software tools including: BIOS programming, C/C++ and assembler programming, Microsoft Developer’s Studio, Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Project. This position requires proficiency in using lab equipment including kernel debuggers, code debuggers, logic analyzers and emulators on Windows and Linux systems. Candidate must use good design practices and methods for embedded software design.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • BIOS development and maintenance for Intel based processors.
  • Develop and maintain board support software for Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Plans and formulates engineering activities according to project requirements.
  • Supports new project planning, scheduling, preliminary design, and cost estimation efforts.
  • Has ability to write and follow design specifications for the development of embedded software.
  • Develops and maintains device drivers. • Reviews software design for compliance with relevant design standards and marketing needs.
  • Reviews and reports project status against the schedule during the development cycle.
  • Manages outside software design contractors to complete projects on schedule and in budget.
  • Troubleshoots issues that arise in software product quality or reliability.

Regional Sales Manager

Regional Sales Manager is responsible for selling and promoting the sale of Acromag’s Process Group’s hardware, software and accessories. • Manage, motivate and maintain Sales Reps/channels

  • Manage key accounts.
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans, budgets, forecasts, sales funnels, and other management objectives as assigned.
  • Participate in product development, marketing and client education activities

Travel:

Travel, about 7 to 8 days per month typical, or as required, by the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Process Group to assist in presentation at trade shows, national sales meetings and during customer sales and or representative/distributor meetings.


Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer would be responsible for servicing clients and sales partners with commercial and technical questions relating to product applications, ordering and the service of Acromag’s Process Products.

Duties:

  • Support global clients, prospects, and sales channels with all commercial and technical questions relating to Acromag’s Process Products.
  • Provide Applications Engineering support and technical advice involving how to use, wire, configure, calibrate, apply, and trouble-shoot Acromag’s Hardware and Software Process products. These products currently involve Signal Conditioning and Network I/O devices such as Temperature Transmitters, Alarms, Isolators, Splitters, Math Modules, HART, Ethernet Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet IP, Profibus-DP, RS485 Modbus RTU, and USB I/O.
  • Maintain a key role in the support and management of all customized, re-engineered, non-catalog type products for resale.
  • Provide direct support to clients and sales channels in the form of product selections, differentiation, quotations, and proposal generation. 
  • Develop and present sales training materials in the form of power-point presentations, webinars, videos, or other forms of media communication
  • Develop and/or contribute in the production of articles, customer testimonies, whitepapers, case studies, application notes, education materials, etc…
  • Work in association with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales and other departments for customer service purposes
  • Perform routine clerical duties required to receive, process, and complete orders or returns from customers.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Electronics/Process Instrumentation
  • Relevant work and business experience
  • Experience/education with industrial networks, Ethernet communications and process controls/instrumentation a plus Tools/Skills:
  • Familiar with analog and digital DC circuits, components, design, and the use of test equipment such a multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Basic math skills and experience with computing discounts and commissions.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
