Limit Alarms and Relay Trips
Acromag has a wide variety of models to match your application’s requirements.

* DC current/voltage, TC, RTD, freq, strain gauge, and other inputs
* SPST, SPDT, and DPDT 5A relays
* Loop-powered or AC/DC powered for 2-, 3- 4-wire installations
* CE, UL, cUL (Class I, Div 2, Groups A, B, C, D)
* Available from stock and 5 year warranty

Intelligent PC-Programmable Alarms
Windows-configured IntelliPack® alarms support six alarm functions (limit, window, deviation, on/off control, rate-of-change, peak/valley detector). IntelliPack transmitters  offer an optional alarm relay linked to the voltage/current output. Digital signal processing ensures the highest accuracy.

801A811A: TC/RTD, V/I and AC current input single-channel alarms with universal inputs
812A822A832A : V/I, TC/mV, RTD/ohms input dual-channel alarms
801T811T841T851T: TC/RTD, V/I, freq/pulse, and strain gauge/load cell input transmitters with alarm trip setpoints

Economy Limit Alarms

The analog-based Flat Pack series is both easy to use and very dependable. This is Acromag’s long-time best selling alarm family.

260A: Loop-powered limit alarms
361A: DC-powered limit alarms
461A: AC-powered limit alarms

Modbus-RTU Limit Alarms
BusWorks I/O modules are a great way to add local limit alarms at remote sensor points being monitored on a Modbus network. Four-channel I/O modules are very cost-effective.
913MB914MB: DC current and DC voltage input modules with limit alarms
924MB934MB: Thermocouple and RTD input modules with limit alarms
942MB: Frequency/pulse counter input modules with limit alarms

New Terminal Block Options
Acromag now offers three options for more convenient wiring connections when using 600 Series, IntelliPack, or BusWorks modules. Cage clamp terminals are standard, but you can upgrade to barrier strips for added security or spring clamps for faster connections. Click here or see individual product data sheets for more information.

Power Supplies
Available from stock and prices starting at just $90.
PS5R: Universal power supply, five models from 12.5 to 240W

Ask the I/O Experts
Question: Do you have a fast acting Frequency Alarm unit that responds in 150ms or so? The application is for an "overspeed" shutdown device monitoring a magnetic pickup on a gas turbine. The input frequency is 0-12000hz.

Answer: Yes. Check out Acromag's Model 942MB-0900 , 2 channel Frequency Alarm w/ Modbus-RTU Communications. When configuring the module, the user has the option of selecting the 0-50khz input range along with a programmable gate time between 0.1second and 1second. Also, the unit offers 2 SSR DO's that can act as high and/or low alarms for their respective inputs (response time for the ssr's is better than 5ms). So, you can set this unit up using the 50khz input range, a gate time of 0.1second (100ms), along with a high, failsafe alarm output as needed. The DO's switch up to 48Vdc at 1Amp.

Question: We have an existing continuous level gauge on a twisted pair with 4-20 mA. How can we add a separate transmitter to get overfill protection using the same cable?

Answer: Acromag offers two basic 4-20mA alarms that can solve the continuous level overfill application. The first, and most direct, approach is to use a loop-powered alarm, This type of 4-20 mA alarm is powered by the existing wires and offers one SPDT relay output. It's installed in series and can be placed anywhere in the loop. The unit is inherently isolated and failsafe (relay is de-energized in alarm condition and loss of mA signal). Because of its design, the device does not require any additional power wiring and will only add a 225 ohm load to the existing loop. click here for the full application
