New terminal block options and USB adapter add versatility
Acromag recently added several terminal block options to offer customers more flexibility when interfacing signals to their control systems. Most Acromag signal conditioners and distributed I/O modules include terminal blocks using cage clamps to safely hold signal wiring. Now we offer the option of spring clamps for faster connections or barrier strips for the most secure connections. The new terminal blocks are available on 600 Series and 800 Series signal conditioners and also on BusWorks 900 Series Profibus and Modbus I/O modules. Check our website for specific models or call for further assistance.

A new USB adapter now makes it easier to configure PC-programmable I/O modules using notebooks and other PCs that don't have an available serial port. The Model 5034-225 adapter is small and light (1.6 oz.) with an RS-232 connector on one side and a USB jack on the other. The connection is clean and signal conversion maintains full compatibility with IntelliPack 800 Series transmitters, alarms and computation modules, as well as BusWorks 900MB Series Modbus I/O modules. Call or visit our website for more information.

Ask the I/O Experts
Question: Can I use Acromag’s 9xxMB Modbus-RTU I/O modules work with leased-line or phone modems?

Answer: Yes. However, it may depend on the type/brand of modem and software being used. For leased line modems, Acromag has conducted in-house testing at 9600 baud with the Multi-tech MT5634ZBA modems and the Model 913MB-0900. Click here for set up and conclusions.

To test compatibility with phone modems, Acromag participated in a joint venture and cross-country application test with Hach Company. Hach Company initiated a 25 hour dial-up test from Colorado to Michigan. For the setup and results click here.
