New Ethernet RTD input modules are ideal for remote I/O functions at distributed sites with low point counts

This new addition to Acromag’s BusWorks® 900EN Series directly interfaces RTD temperature sensors from remote sites to a Modbus/TCP network without expensive investments for intelligent controllers.

Acromag’s new BusWorks® 966EN Input Modules interface up to six RTD or resistance signals directly to an Ethernet Modbus/TCP 10/100 network. These independent I/O devices do not require expensive companion products, such as intelligent controllers and backplanes for PLCs or modular I/O systems, to deliver a more compact and cost-effective solution with very low startup costs. Setup is also faster and easier with embedded web pages allowing configuration using any standard web browser. No other software is required. Priced at only $500 for a four-input unit or $650 for six inputs, they are very economical for applications that need to monitor a small quantity of RTD sensors per site. Each module is only an inch wide with the highest density footprint available for compact mounting on DIN-rails. Power requirements are very flexible, supporting standard 15-36V DC sources instead of proprietary 5V supplies.

Ask the I/O Experts
Question: I have a 4-20 mA signal and need to split it to 3 separate loads. Do you have a solution for this?

Answer: Assuming all 3 output loads have powered input connections, then Acromag Output Loop Powered devices with sinking outputs are required. This module steals power from the output loop to operate and control the output current. To provide 3 individual loops, choose the 653T-0600 (one input to two outputs) and a 651T-0600 single channel isolator. Then, daisy-chain the input 4-20 mA signal to both 653T and 651T inputs.
