More Uptime. More Productivity.
How Does Acromag I/O Deliver More Uptime? Expected and unexpected downtime for instrumentation service can cost millions of dollars. So to ensure more uptime, Acromag implements redundancy for continuous operation during maintenance or through network failures. And, 50 years of experience means our I/O is designed to withstand hazards that occur in industrial environments.
- High-voltage isolation between I/O, power, and network
- High-level surge suppression on all ports prevents damage from transient signals and noise
- Redundant copper/fiber network ports for dual-path communication with support for STP and RSTP rings
- Redundant-ready DC power with internal diode coupling for "bumpless" transfer to back-up power
- Heavy-duty IP20-rated aluminum enclosure provides shock and vibration resistance
- All-in-one design has higher reliability than systems with separate I/O cards, rack, bus-coupler, and power supply
- Wide operating temperature range for extreme heat/cold
- Advanced watchdog timer and self-test functions

Ask the I/O Experts
Question: Will a Hart Communicator work on a loop that simply has a Rosemount 3051 Smart Transmitter and the input of an Acromag 653T-0600 4-20mA isolator/splitter? I’m re-transmitting the 4-20mA signal thru the Acromag splitter but am having connection problems with my Hart Communicator on the input side.
Answer: Yes, however, you’ll probably need to add some external series resistance in the loop (250ohm resistor, 1/2W typical, in series with the Acromag input). Most Hart Transmitters & Hart Communicators require 250ohms of minimum load resistance in the loop. However, most all Acromag 4-20mA isolators/splitters have much lower input impedances (10 to 150ohms depending on the model). If this is the case, an external resistor in series with the Acromag input should work fine.
