New application notes for Ethernet and Modbus I/O
Acromag recently released a series of application notes for their BusWorks remote I/O modules. The documents cover topics such as interfacing to Allen-Bradley PLCs, LabView software, and OPC servers. A whitepaper on EtherNet/IP is also available for download. The full list of application notes is available on our website.
The BusWorks modules are thin, rackless distributed I/O modules with up to 12 channels of analog or discrete I/O. They interface sensors, actuators and control devices across EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus-RTU, or Profibus-DP networks.

Question: How do I filter noise from a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) that is riding on my Type J thermocouple wires? Thermocouples are mounted in a 350 HP moter that is driven by the VFD.
Answer: To filter the noise you need an isolated transmitter such as Acromag's 151T-0600 or 801T-0500 models with universal thermocouple input.
If you already have a TC transitter installed, you should consider using a 4-20mA isolator such as our 630T Series.
