Industry Associations

Acromag is actively involved with a variety of industry trade associations. Through membership in these associations, Acromag takes a leadership role in establishing industry standards, best practices, education, and promotion of embedded computing and measurement & control technologies.

MCAA: Measurement, Control, and Automation Association
MCAA is the national trade association representing leading manufacturers and distributors of instrumentation, systems and software used in industrial process control and factory automation around the world.  Member companies include the leading multi-national companies together with a range of more niche-oriented providers. Acromag President Dave Wolfe was elected MCAA Chairman in 2008.

VITA and VITA Standards Organization (VSO)
VITA is an organization of vendors and users having a common market interest in real-time, modular embedded computing systems. Founded in 1984, VITA believes in and champions open system architectures as opposed to proprietary system architectures. VITA's activities are international in scope. The functions performed by VITA are technical, promotional and user related and are aimed at increasing the total market size, providing vendors additional market exposure and providing users with timely technical information.

ISA: Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society
ISA is a leading, global organization that is setting the standard for automation by helping worldwide members and other professionals solve difficult technical problems, while enhancing their leadership and personal career capabilities. ISA develops standards; certifies industry professionals; provides education and training; publishes books and technical articles; and hosts the largest conference and exhibition for automation professionals in the Western Hemisphere. ISA is the founding sponsor of The Automation Federation.

ODVA: Open Device Vendors Association
ODVA is an international association comprising members from the world's leading automation companies. Collectively, ODVA and its members support network technologies based on the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP™). These currently include DeviceNet™, EtherNet/IP™, CompoNet™, and the major extensions to CIP — CIP Safety™, CIP Sync™, and CIP Motion™. ODVA manages the development of these open technologies, and assists manufacturers and users of CIP Networks through tools, training and marketing activities.

Modbus-IDA
Modbus-IDA is a group of independent users and suppliers of automation devices that seeks to drive the adoption of the Modbus communication protocol suite and the evolution to address architectures for distributed automation systems across multiple market segments. Modbus-IDA will also provide the infrastructure to obtain and share information about the protocols, their application and certification to simplify implementation by users resulting in reduced costs.

CSIA: Control System Integrators Association
CSIA serves as the beacon of good business practices for control system integrators and the companies that rely on them to translate the promise of technology into performance on the manufacturing plant floor.
